Happy May!
This month is zipping past Sven and me. We want to share some photos with you. We never got to show you our trip to the Lemmermann's.
This is the Lemmermann's home. It's so beautiful. Sven loved it here because it's a small town where everyone talks to one another. It reminds Sven of Cornwall and Middleburg.
While we were there, we went on a walk to a farm. The girls roller-bladed but if you know me I can't be on wheels. I'm so very clumsy.
We fed sheep and lambs at the farm. They munched on anything that came their way. I kept Sven in my camera bag for safe keeping.
After visiting the Lemmermann's, I came back to Berlin and did school work before going back to school. Keep this in mind-- just because your teacher isn't at school doesn't mean they are working on school work. It's all the time! After all that, it was time to go to camp!
And we're off! We didn't take a little, yellow school bus. We got to get a coach bus. This is how German schools do it. Germans don't even have yellow school buses.
This was our view when we first arrived. I really want to go sailing but no luck this time. Sven really loved spending our days in the sun and relaxing by the water.
This is our "front yard." We had ping-pong, basketball, soccer, and floor hockey. My students aren't super competitive and the ones who are don't like losing in floor hockey to their new American teacher. Oops!
Our super cute, tiny cabin!
On our first night, we had a campfire. Germans don't make s'mores, though. I was very disappointed. They wrap dough around a stick and bake bread. It was OK but a sweet, sticky marshmallow would have been WAY better!
You know how I said I'm very clumsy. Well, I bought a bike! Don't worry, I have a helmet and safe basket for Sven to sit in. He already wants to go everywhere. It rained the day I bought it so I practiced riding in my living room.
Well we better go. We need to practice riding because in Germany I have to ride on the street-- with the cars! I can't ride in my driveway with the flowers yet. Talk to you soon!
